Home Improvements




Nothing huge in the improvements but they have ended up costing us a small fortune. We changed the doorknobs to nickel. I painted the sconces in the hall nickel color. Then, feeling way to saucy for my own good, I bought a gallon of deliciously dark brown paint and painted the living room. This room has been a modge podge for the past nearly 8 years. Our sofa was blue and white checks. The rocking chair was a lovely glider with maroon cushions. The pictures were from different genres. It all came down. I took the sofa and the rocker to a friend and picked up a new sofa. The walls are bare except for the very planned simplicity.


But wait, there's more! The entry lighting fixture was an ugly brass chandelier that was outdated when we had it installed. I found a different one. I shouldn't add this but I will. I bought it at a yard sale. I win for being cheap and finding a classy light fixture. Give me a medal!

Flu

The flu has been making its way through our family.  The first to be hit was the 15 year old.  She was very, very angry.  At me.  She had been begging for the flu shot for the past three months.  I kept forgetting.  She got better but it's one more thing to discuss on her future therapist's couch.
