Sponsors

You know those blogs that have 45 widgets on the side of their posts listing their cute little sponsors? Those are the bloggers who are rewarded for being incredibly witty, pensive, or introspective. Unfortunately for those poor people, they also have to endorse products they know nothing about OR they get sent stuff so THEN they have to endorse the product even if they don't like them.

And so, it is with a heavy heart, I feel the need to endorse my sponsors' merchandise. Ready? Here I go.

(Cue chirping crickets)

And so we have established that I am a grassroots blogger. I have no sponsors. I can say anything I want without fearing retribution from sponsors. I'm blogging because my little world revolves around me. Cool, huh? So anything I decide to dis or endorse is my own opinion.

A little background is in order first. I have wanted a mother's necklace that is my style. I contacted Tiffany at the Silver Cottage and told her the names of my children. The only directive I gave her was to keep it simple. It arrived today and, I must admit, I am now the cutest girl I know. So much so that I have been calling my friends, neighbors, and sisters to tell them how cute I am. Her creations are personal, creative, and excellent taste.

Did I mention affordable? So affordable that I'm offering a deal for anybody who places an order between now and August 2nd. Tiffany will give 25% off her regular price if you contact her and tell her you saw it on my blog or somehow work into the conversation that Nancy is the cutest girl you know now that she wears a silver pendant around her neck that boasts that she is the joyful mother of four specific children. And, yes, I paid for my treasure.

I know what you are thinking.
How can she offer this great price? The answer is simple. She doesn't know. She'll be just as surprised when she reads this blog as you are! Maybe more so! Isn't this a fun game? And I wonder why I don't get sponsor offers. Go figure.

Check out her blog or click directly on the icon to get to her store. If you skip the blog, you may miss out on a lot of fun. She posts great saving ideas, organization of coupons, internet specials for FREE stuff, interspersed with stories about taking her six children to a free concert featuring the Bee Gees. Don't you love the way that last sentence contained both "free" and "Bee Gees"? It totally makes me want to find a DeLorean time machine and be the coolest 70s chick in my polyester disco shirt.

I have been doubled over laughing for the last 5 minutes! You Rock!

Seriously, probably the first time I have laughed out loud for a few days.

I am all for it, 25% off for everyone! If we were in bar I'd buy everyone drinks also! The fruity expensive kind!

  6. "Oh yes, I am totally going to honor, Ms. Taylor's kind offer of 25% off any order before August 2nd!"

You ought to start offering more discounts to great things and places. Should I send you my shopping list? LOL Actually, come to think of it you didn't call me to tell me about how cute you are. Does that mean we're not friends, neighbors, or sisters? Well, stalker it is then. ;)

Well, I have to figure out how to buy one of those great pieces before Sunday, now. I really have wanted to do something because I had a bracelet w/ the kids birthstones up through my 5th child. Being on #8, I need to get something else. I'd also like to get a special one just for Dominic and Bridget since I wish they could literally be here, but jewelry would be a nice way to keep them close sentimentally. Thanks for the heads up on a great designer! And especially for arranging the discount for me. LOL

Braces!

13 year old got braces today! She also had a little helper on her.

I am being published!

I know! It just reeks of excitement, doesn't it?  I know what you are thinking. "Who would publish that woman's thoughts?" The answer is a lovely little outfit called www.blog2print.com. In other words, I haven't been discovered. I am no closer to being a published author than I was yesterday EXCEPT that by Christmas I will be the proud owner of my very own blog book! I know. It's a little anticlimactic but here's the cool part. My friend, Becki, found me entertaining and directed me to a blog called www.josikilpack.blogspot.com.  She posted a little coupon code for 20% off which was supposed to end last week. Apparently, the code is still good and I saved $14. That said, you know it isn't exactly the cheapest way to get published but it's the best price I could find on publishing my blog!  And it requires very little technical know-how.  And that, my friends, tickles my heart. And, for a small price of your integrity and dignity, I will share the ...

Wordful Wednesday and Clever Much? Rarely!

Sometimes my brilliance blinds me! Speaking of brilliance, before we continue this discussion, if you are my mother in law, stop reading. Walk away. At least until after Christmas. Seriously. My own mother doesn't read my blog. I think it has something to do with words like "socially awkward" and "mortifying." She knows me. She doesn't have to read about me. She can just pretend like I turned out normal. Anyway, if the mother-in-law has exited the website, check out what she's getting for Christmas! TADA! I'd like to give a special shout out to the internet and whatever site I was cruising through last week for planting this idea into my head. Usually not this creative and I definitely don't know where I got the energy to take the kids out for pictures. Or go to Walmart for the frame. And Robert's for the mat. Costco for the pictures.  Yeah, I painted the frame, too. So not my style. Anymore. I also ordered a canvas print for my husband but I...
