I am being published!

I know! It just reeks of excitement, doesn't it?  I know what you are thinking.

"Who would publish that woman's thoughts?"

The answer is a lovely little outfit called www.blog2print.com. In other words, I haven't been discovered. I am no closer to being a published author than I was yesterday EXCEPT that by Christmas I will be the proud owner of my very own blog book!

I know. It's a little anticlimactic but here's the cool part. My friend, Becki, found me entertaining and directed me to a blog called www.josikilpack.blogspot.com.  She posted a little coupon code for 20% off which was supposed to end last week. Apparently, the code is still good and I saved $14. That said, you know it isn't exactly the cheapest way to get published but it's the best price I could find on publishing my blog!  And it requires very little technical know-how.  And that, my friends, tickles my heart.

And, for a small price of your integrity and dignity, I will share the code with you!  All you have to do is comment that, on occasion, I cause you to chuckle, grin, or force Coca Cola through your nose. If my thoughts resonate without tickling your funny bone, go ahead and tell me that, too.

I'm going to go ahead and use the honor system.  The magical code is:  fall4b2p

We're talking shamelessly begging for validation here, people.

  1. I think that is AWESOME. Consider yourself validated!

  2. Shameless, sure...get in line with that desire.

    Chuckle? Check
    Grin? Check
    Resonate? Check
Coke through the nose? You think I'd waste Coke that way?

Please let me know how the book turns out!

  3. So how much is the book costing you even with the coupon? I looked into printing my blog and it was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

Oh and I never laugh when I read your blog. Nope. Never. Not one little snort. Humph. Take that.

OK, sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me today. I'm being mean and ugly for no apparent reason. So YES, I guffaw at your blog on a daily basis you comedian you!

  4. Do I laugh? Yes. Do I smile? Yes. Why, I've even cut and pasted something I wanted to remember into my own journal! I found you through a 'friend of a friend' and keep coming back because you're so interesting.

    Thanks.

  5. I've been meaning to make my blog into a book. I should for Christmas!

  6. If you are the least bit unsure of my undying love for you at this point, then you're just not paying attention.

I love this bloggedy-book idea. It will be so much easier to blackmail my son in the future via page numbers than blog post dates. "Take out that garbage unless you want page 43 to end up in your high school yearbook..."

  7. Consider your ticket validated on the funny train. You rock, I enoy.

  8. It is an actual fact that you have forced Coca Cola through my nose. As well as Pepsi, milk, cocoa, milkshake, coffee, fruit punch, and even a little bit of frozen yogurt. That one was probably my favorite. It had cookie crumbs in it.

    Congratulations!

The Most Dreaded Words

Everybody knows that Christmas is about keeping the Santa Secret and pleasing your children. Therefore, the most dreaded words are uttered on Christmas Eve. "I changed my mind, I want a [pony, scooter, bike, Red Rider BB gun]" A close second place winner is, "Can I have a New Year's Eve party?" Then, "Me, too?"

Too Sick to be Sick

I am sick.  Really and truly sick.  I even took a sick day and felt no guilt whatsoever that maybe I wasn't sick enough to have a "sick day."  Because I am.  My 5 year old was sick, too so I took him to the doctor.  I refuse to acknowledge that I'm sick because I don't get sick.  So with absolute glee, my little boy climbed up onto the table, stuck out his tongue and conversed with the doctor.  I heard something about cloudy ears and antibiotics and then I just turned it off. It hurts when sound reaches my eardrums. We drove back home, I turned on the television, brought in the dog, and let the babysitting begin.  I crawled back into bed and swam somewhere between consciousness and unconsciousness.  The kids came home from school.  I might have acknowledged them.  I made chicken noodle soup from scratch.  I couldn't even think.  My husband caught me in a sway and asked what he could do.  I grunted some terse instructi...

What We Eat

Check out the good looking crew.  Just to clarify.  I'm the pretty one. There's a little mountain resort in Northern Utah that is invaded every July by this group of people. We are an intimidating bunch. 5 years ago my brother brought his Nepalese bride to the United States.  She lived in a country where she had no expectation to ever drive a car.  She bought her food daily from the market and ate it.  She taught English, although her accent was so strong when she arrived I questioned her grasp of the language.  We tried to be friendly and accepting.  We ended up scaring the daylights out of her. She thought we were crazy.  Her words, not mine. Although I think she tolerated me a little better than the others because I had the brand new fair-haired baby that she continued to steal.  She wanted a blond haired, blue eyed baby and wondered what her chances were now that she married an American. We take turns cooking for the family dinners. ...
