All By Myself

The boys went on a fathers and sons campout this morning. They called from their tent. It's raining and they're playing Sorry.

The girls went to a neighbor's house to hang out.

The dog is pacing.

The cat is antagonizing the dog by being in her way.

I have no responsibility except to clean up the hairball the cat just gifted to me.

I'm lonely.

  1. What a rare luxury!
    Are you mad woman?
    Run a bath
    light a smelly candle
put on some chill out music
find the stashed chocolate bar at the back of the pantry
    go have some YOU time!
    Relax!!!

  2. Dude. I'm so jealous.

I just spent all of dinnertime explaining that the thing is called a "clothes pin" not a "close pin." And why. And the history of their usage to modern day.

It's only the second day of summer vacation. I just threatened to go out and sit in the car in the driveway to get 10 minutes of silence.

    Can I come over now?

  3. We have Fathers and Sonscampout tonight too! I spent all day getting them ready to go and packing the van for themso that when Rob got off work this evening, they could headout. Now that I have the little girls finally to bed, I'm too tired to enjoy my peace and quiet, and I'm lonely too. When Rob is gone, I NEVER sleep. But hey, when he is home, I still never sleep. Oh, to be a somniac! (Is that a real word...?)

  5. I say watch a movie with popcorn and candy. They'll be home before you know it and then you'll have to share.

  6. I find it hilarious that they called you from their tent.

I know what you mean...when the house is empty it is hard to focus on an activity to relax with. It's as if the silence is too noisy.

@Gina, I can't find the candy bar I bought yesterday (I really needed it after the day I had). Now I don't need it as much but I seriously WANT it. Hiding candy bars doesn't work for me. LOL

  7. :( But you'll love them that much more when they come home to "entertain" you. If it makes you feel any better, mine can't go 30 seconds without trying to kill each other this morning...

  9. My kids are in Hawaii for a month so I'm feeling that lonely part. Go get a pedicure, go on a shopping spree or blog!

Braces!

13 year old got braces today! She also had a little helper on her.

I am being published!

I know! It just reeks of excitement, doesn't it?  I know what you are thinking. "Who would publish that woman's thoughts?" The answer is a lovely little outfit called www.blog2print.com. In other words, I haven't been discovered. I am no closer to being a published author than I was yesterday EXCEPT that by Christmas I will be the proud owner of my very own blog book! I know. It's a little anticlimactic but here's the cool part. My friend, Becki, found me entertaining and directed me to a blog called www.josikilpack.blogspot.com.  She posted a little coupon code for 20% off which was supposed to end last week. Apparently, the code is still good and I saved $14. That said, you know it isn't exactly the cheapest way to get published but it's the best price I could find on publishing my blog!  And it requires very little technical know-how.  And that, my friends, tickles my heart. And, for a small price of your integrity and dignity, I will share the ...

Wordful Wednesday and Clever Much? Rarely!

Sometimes my brilliance blinds me! Speaking of brilliance, before we continue this discussion, if you are my mother in law, stop reading. Walk away. At least until after Christmas. Seriously. My own mother doesn't read my blog. I think it has something to do with words like "socially awkward" and "mortifying." She knows me. She doesn't have to read about me. She can just pretend like I turned out normal. Anyway, if the mother-in-law has exited the website, check out what she's getting for Christmas! TADA! I'd like to give a special shout out to the internet and whatever site I was cruising through last week for planting this idea into my head. Usually not this creative and I definitely don't know where I got the energy to take the kids out for pictures. Or go to Walmart for the frame. And Robert's for the mat. Costco for the pictures.  Yeah, I painted the frame, too. So not my style. Anymore. I also ordered a canvas print for my husband but I...
