Any possibility I could get away with...

My girls are at camp.

Do you think they'll notice if I clean their rooms?

(I already cleaned off the desk)

  1. Skip that! Pour a cuppa and relax. Make them clean them when they get back :-) Or, you can come clean my room so I can pour a cuppa and relax!!

  2. They will be so happy that you cleaned their rooms. Mine always were. Just do not throw away anything but real garbage. Put the rest in a garbage sack in the garage and throw that out in 6 months if they have not asked about it. I once threw away an important FCCLA document that belonged to the school. During the summer, go figure!

  3. I love the saying on the wall that says 'Satan has no power....' Doesn't quite go with the room. You better hurry, they come home tomorrow. I would just take a trash bag to it and I bet they never know. But just in case - stash it in a good hiding place.
    Good luck!

  5. Hmm.
I just cleaned my girl's rooms cause i could NOT stand it any longer.
My 10 year old leaves dirty AND clean clothes on the floor.

    *sigh*

And then complains she has no clothes.

Things will change this summer for SURE!

  7. That's exactly when I WOULD get into my boys rooms. I had all week while they were at camp to completely scour, organize and de-junk. They told me once they got older, that they LOVED coming home to their rooms!

  8. They will notice their clean room but they won't notice anything you may have "accidentally" thrown away! ;D My mom always "cleaned" mine and my sister's rooms when we would be gone for a few days. Good luck!

  11. Thank Goodness.... my kids are normal. I thought I was the only one who could actually lose her kids within their jumble of misplaced stuff. The obsessive compulsive part of me is screaming "Get out the black bin bags "The lazy part is saying "Put the kettle on!"

  12. They must've taken all their clothes to camp, right? Because where are the mixed-up piles of clean/dirty/old/new clothes like the ones on my daughters's bedroom floor?
And I don't wait to clean my daughter's room til they go somewhere. I've been known to do it early in the morning before they get out of bed...just to make them feel a little guilty. Doesn't work, by the way...

Braces!

13 year old got braces today! She also had a little helper on her.

I am being published!

I know! It just reeks of excitement, doesn't it?  I know what you are thinking. "Who would publish that woman's thoughts?" The answer is a lovely little outfit called www.blog2print.com. In other words, I haven't been discovered. I am no closer to being a published author than I was yesterday EXCEPT that by Christmas I will be the proud owner of my very own blog book! I know. It's a little anticlimactic but here's the cool part. My friend, Becki, found me entertaining and directed me to a blog called www.josikilpack.blogspot.com.  She posted a little coupon code for 20% off which was supposed to end last week. Apparently, the code is still good and I saved $14. That said, you know it isn't exactly the cheapest way to get published but it's the best price I could find on publishing my blog!  And it requires very little technical know-how.  And that, my friends, tickles my heart. And, for a small price of your integrity and dignity, I will share the ...

Wordful Wednesday and Clever Much? Rarely!

Sometimes my brilliance blinds me! Speaking of brilliance, before we continue this discussion, if you are my mother in law, stop reading. Walk away. At least until after Christmas. Seriously. My own mother doesn't read my blog. I think it has something to do with words like "socially awkward" and "mortifying." She knows me. She doesn't have to read about me. She can just pretend like I turned out normal. Anyway, if the mother-in-law has exited the website, check out what she's getting for Christmas! TADA! I'd like to give a special shout out to the internet and whatever site I was cruising through last week for planting this idea into my head. Usually not this creative and I definitely don't know where I got the energy to take the kids out for pictures. Or go to Walmart for the frame. And Robert's for the mat. Costco for the pictures.  Yeah, I painted the frame, too. So not my style. Anymore. I also ordered a canvas print for my husband but I...
