Texting and Synchronizing

My daughter texted me in the middle of the school day.

Her:  My period started.  Can you come and get me?

Me:  Mine, too!  We're like twins!  *SQUEEE*!

Her:  Ha. Ha.

Me:  Did you soil yourself?

Her:  It's not visible.

Me:  Then why do I need to come and get you?

Her:  It feels weird.

Me:  Welcome to my world.

Her:

Me:  Where are you?

Her:  In the bathroom.

Me:  How long have you been there?

Her:  20 minutes.

Me:  That's just plain sad.

Her:  Can I call Grandma and tell her I'm sick?

Me:  No, you can't lie to Grandma.

Jenn:  Hey!  When are we going to lunch?

Me:  I'll be in town in two weeks!  Will you be around?

Jenn:  We'll be moving out of our house but let's do lunch and call it therapy.  HA!

Her:  Mom?  Are you still there?

Me:  Therapy it is!  Are you bringing the Klonipin au de toilette?

Her:  Why do I need therapy?  What are you talking about?

Me:  Oops.  Sorry.  I'll be there in 20 minutes.

  1. Another good example of why I should never take up texting.

  3. Love it! And you just inspired my next post.

  5. Ooooh you are going to be in BIG trouble when she reads the blog! LOL

My daughter was texting for me because I was driving and I cannot do both at the same time. She was also texting her sister on her phone. She had my VT's pretty confused when she responded to them with at text meant for my other daughter. Pretty funny.

  6. Dear mother,
I will not be talking to you for the next week. Thank you for humiliating me. I hope your next period starts in public and it IS visible.

p.s. just so you are aware, makayla was the one who alerted me to this post. That tells me two things. 1)her mother and (I'm guessing) others in the ward follow your blog, so now they will never be able to look at me the same way again; and 2)YES, my friends do sometimes read things on this blog, and what you say actually impacts my life. Are you not at all sensitive to that?

  8. Other than this being hilarious. I am sorry BandGeekGirl. Fact of life and all that. If it makes you feel any better, it has been QUITE visible for all of us at one time or another. Probably for you too at some point. Then this embarrassment will be NOTHING compared :)

Braces!

13 year old got braces today! She also had a little helper on her.

I am being published!

I know! It just reeks of excitement, doesn't it?  I know what you are thinking. "Who would publish that woman's thoughts?" The answer is a lovely little outfit called www.blog2print.com. In other words, I haven't been discovered. I am no closer to being a published author than I was yesterday EXCEPT that by Christmas I will be the proud owner of my very own blog book! I know. It's a little anticlimactic but here's the cool part. My friend, Becki, found me entertaining and directed me to a blog called www.josikilpack.blogspot.com.  She posted a little coupon code for 20% off which was supposed to end last week. Apparently, the code is still good and I saved $14. That said, you know it isn't exactly the cheapest way to get published but it's the best price I could find on publishing my blog!  And it requires very little technical know-how.  And that, my friends, tickles my heart. And, for a small price of your integrity and dignity, I will share the ...

Wordful Wednesday and Clever Much? Rarely!

Sometimes my brilliance blinds me! Speaking of brilliance, before we continue this discussion, if you are my mother in law, stop reading. Walk away. At least until after Christmas. Seriously. My own mother doesn't read my blog. I think it has something to do with words like "socially awkward" and "mortifying." She knows me. She doesn't have to read about me. She can just pretend like I turned out normal. Anyway, if the mother-in-law has exited the website, check out what she's getting for Christmas! TADA! I'd like to give a special shout out to the internet and whatever site I was cruising through last week for planting this idea into my head. Usually not this creative and I definitely don't know where I got the energy to take the kids out for pictures. Or go to Walmart for the frame. And Robert's for the mat. Costco for the pictures.  Yeah, I painted the frame, too. So not my style. Anymore. I also ordered a canvas print for my husband but I...
